ABOUT ME

Welcome! My name is Shay, and this website is where I will document my teaching journey. I plan to share classroom experiences, artwork I have created, and events that may influence me as an educator in the future.

I am from Aurora, Colorado, about 30 minutes east of Denver. I always knew I wanted to stay in-state for college because of how much I love Colorado. When I first visited Colorado State University, I knew right away that it was where I wanted to be.

I have always been close with my teachers, which played a big role in my interest in education. In high school, I took several graphic design and photography classes, which helped me realize that I wanted to pursue a career in the arts. While attending CSU, I discovered the Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) program, and I now hope to earn my Master’s degree in that field after graduation.
