Teachers establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
I am at a developing level in this area. I excel at building meaningful connections with students, but I need to establish boundaries and maintain authority, particularly as a young teacher. My goal is to implement clear classroom expectations early on to foster mutual respect and structure.
Artifacts & Rationale

The screenshot of assignment submission data highlights my ability to foster a classroom culture where students feel encouraged and supported in completing their work. For my first-ever taught and graded assignment, I achieved an 84% turn-in rate, with 27 out of 32 students submitting their work. This demonstrates that students felt comfortable engaging with the material and understood the importance of meeting expectations. By creating an inclusive and respectful environment, I was able to motivate students to participate actively and take ownership of their learning.
The video was short, simple, and highly informational, designed to provide students with practical tips to elevate their photography skills without overwhelming them. By choosing a resource that was both accessible and enjoyable, I ensured students could connect with the content and apply it effectively in their work. This approach reflects my commitment to using diverse tools that cater to varied learning preferences, fostering a classroom where all students feel respected and engaged.
