Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning for their students.
I rate myself as proficient in this standard. While I can design and execute effective lessons, I need to improve on timing to ensure lessons fill the entire class period. Extending activities and incorporating more interactive elements will help me address this challenge.
Artifacts & Rationale
Demonstrates my ability to design and deliver effective instruction that promotes active learning and skill development. This lesson introduced students to fundamental photography techniques, such as composition, balance, and lighting, in a structured yet creative format. By focusing on flat lay photography, students could explore storytelling through visual arrangements while working with accessible materials. The hands-on nature of the lesson allowed students to engage deeply with the content, fostering creativity and critical thinking.

The student example from the Scavenger Hunt Photo Challenge showcases work that, while not as polished as some of the strongest submissions, still effectively completed the task and met the requirements. This artifact highlights my ability to guide all students toward meeting learning objectives, regardless of skill level. By analyzing this piece, I was able to provide constructive feedback that encouraged the student to improve their technical skills and push their creative boundaries. This example reflects my commitment to meeting students where they are and fostering a growth mindset through individualized support and guidance.
